Paranormal activity refers to strange phenomenon that challenges rational explanations. It is commonly associated with ghosts. While most people are afraid of ghosts, there are some who are up for the challenge of ghost hunting.

Most people believe that ghosts are souls or spirits who died but don't want to move on due to unfinished business. They also believed to have electromagnetic energy that explains why they can manipulate electrical appliances at home.

Here are some basic ghost hunting tips:

1. Experienced ghost hunters ask beginners to be respectful of spirits and ghosts.

2. Never threaten, dare, or tease unseen entities. Ghosts are believed to have the ability to hurt and hunt people when they are offended.

3. Take ghost hunting seriously. Never play while in the field.

4. Self-confidence and self-control are the only weapons that can be effectively used to protect oneself when ghost hunting.

5. Form a group and find good haunted spots like abandoned hospitals, schools, churches, cemeteries, and haunted houses.

6. Get permission before entering private property to prevent arrest or prosecution.

7. Always bring a flashlight and spare batteries. Be careful with old buildings, they usually have weak foundations.

8. Never go alone. Stay with the group at all times.

9. Bring a tape recorder and camera for documentation purposes. A recommended camera would be 35 mm with 400 ASA film or higher.

10. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. It is recommended that you wear rubber shoes just in case running is required.

11. Bring an electromagnetic field meter or compass. Ghosts have energy that can easily be detected using these equipments. You would realize a possible presence if the frequency reaches 3-7 milligauss.

12. Don't forget to visit the place during day time in order to get familiar with any dangerous spots or obstacles that are impossible to notice during night time.

13. Don't take pictures when it is raining, snowing, or when it is foggy. Precipitation and moisture in the air will cause artificial effects on the film. Also, don’t smoke during the investigation. Stay away from open campfires to avoid smoke and flames.

14. Try daytime investigation. Contrary to common beliefs, ghost can also be seen during broad day light.

People do ghost hunting for the experience while some hope to open their third eyes by doing paranormal activities. Whatever the reason is, it is always important to follow basic rules to get the most out of the experience.
